Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my BiteMark account?

Open the app and go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and removes your profile, ratings, reviews, photos, lists, and social connections within 30 days. If you’re unable to access the app, email support@bitemark.app with the email address on your account and we’ll handle it for you.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?” and enter the email associated with your account. You’ll get a reset link by email; if it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

I found incorrect restaurant info. How do I report it?

Email support@bitemark.app with the restaurant’s name and city, and what looks wrong. We use Google Places for restaurant data, so some corrections need to be made upstream — but we’ll always look into it and follow up.

Why am I not seeing nearby restaurants?

BiteMark needs location permission to show what’s near you. On iPhone, open Settings → BiteMark → Location and choose “While Using the App.” If location is on and you’re still seeing an empty list, try pulling down to refresh, or switch your city manually from the Search tab.

Is BiteMark free to use?

Yes. BiteMark is free. There are no ads, no paid tiers, and no hidden costs.

Where is my data stored, and who can see it?

Your data lives in our secure backend (Supabase, hosted in the US). You control what’s public on your profile and which lists are visible to others. For the full breakdown, see our Privacy Policy.
